About River of Dreams

River of Dreams is a long-running classroom project: students hand-shape small wooden canoes from a single block of pine, seal a unique ID sticker under a layer of epoxy inside the hull, tuck a written “dream” inside, and release them into a river.

From there, anything can happen. Some are picked up the same day, a mile downstream. Some bob along for years, getting found and re-launched again and again, traveling hundreds of miles toward the sea. A few have crossed oceans.

If you found one

Tap “I found a canoe”, take a photo, share where you are, and put the canoe back where you found it (or somewhere it can keep going). The student who launched it will see your update.

For teachers

If you'd like to run a launch with your class, get in touch with the project organizer (see the contact link in the footer of riverofdreams.org) and we'll set up a launch code, prefix, and admin login for your school.
